Youth Olympic Games Rowing competition in Nanjing

Date

2014

Location

Nanjing

The Youth Olympic Games Rowing competition in Nanjing took place in 2014 as part of the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games, an international multi-sport event organized by the International Olympic Committee for young athletes aged 15 to 18. The rowing events were held at the Xuanwu Lake Rowing-Canoeing Venue in Nanjing, China, and featured a dynamic format aimed at promoting youth development, international friendship, and Olympic values.

The competition included both single sculls and pairs events for boys and girls, with an emphasis on broad participation and cultural exchange. In addition to traditional races, athletes also engaged in mixed-NOC (National Olympic Committees) events, fostering collaboration between different countries.

I had the honor of serving as a member of the International Jury for rowing during the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing. In this capacity, I worked alongside other officials to ensure fair play, compliance with the rules, and the smooth conduct of the event. Being part of the international jury in such a prestigious youth-focused competition was a remarkable experience, highlighting the importance of integrity, mentorship, and global cooperation in sport.
